Web development

web

If you need anyone to be able to find you without requiring them to download anything, a website is probably your best option. It doesn't matter if they're using a phone, a computer, or a tablet: just open the browser, and they're there. That's why they work so well for businesses, online stores, or any project that wants to reach a lot of people quickly. And when you need to update something, you do it once, and that's it—everyone sees the change instantly.

What's most appreciated about a website is that it doesn't discriminate against devices, it's usually cheaper to develop than other alternatives, and it's relatively easy to maintain. However, without internet access, there's not much you can do, access to certain phone functions is limited, and depending on how it's built, it can feel less responsive than a native app.

When you want the user to have an experience designed specifically for their phone or tablet, a mobile app makes all the difference. You need to use the camera, GPS, or send push notifications, for example; an app does it naturally. It's also the best alternative when you want people to return frequently, interact with you constantly, or be able to use at least part of the service even without a signal.

The experience it offers is usually smoother and faster, and access to the device's hardware is complete. The downside is the cost: Developing for Android and iOS are essentially two separate projects, development time is longer, and the user has to take the step of installing it.

Internet of Things

iot

The IoT comes into play when you want objects in the physical world—sensors, machines, appliances—to start communicating with each other and with the internet. This could be to know in real time what's happening in a production plant, automatically irrigate a field based on soil moisture, or simply turn on the lights at home from your cell phone. In sectors like healthcare, industry, or agriculture, this ability to collect continuous data and act on it can completely change how processes operate.

The benefits are clear: fewer manual tasks, constant information for better decision-making, and an efficiency that was simply not possible before. But we also have to be honest about the challenges: the technical side is more complex, security is an issue that cannot be neglected, and we have to consider the costs of hardware, connectivity, and device maintenance over time.
